3.1.2. Number markers

LIS verbs can display further modifications to convey number agreement. Specifically, the verb can be reduplicated or displaced to mark the number of arguments involved in the event. Note that in LIS, the verb usually inflects to mark object number. To express subject number, LIS mostly employs quantifiers and numerals (LEXICON 3.10). As for person and locative agreement, plain verbs do not inflect for number because they are articulated on the signerโ€™s body.
