Possessive pronouns contained in possessive phrases in LIS are typically produced in postnominal position, i.e. after the possessee. In the example below, poss3 follows the sign car, that is the possessed noun.
car poss3 comfortable
โHis/her car is comfortable.โ
If the possessor is expressed by a noun (e.g. maria, president, cat), the possessive construction typically surfaces in the following order: possessor (maria), possessee (car), possessive pronoun (poss3).
maria car poss3 comfortable
โMariaโs car is comfortable.โ
