Borrowings from other sign languages are lexemes that have been incorporated from other sign languages. In LSC, borrowing may happen due to the contact with Spanish Sign Language (LSE), as illustrated in (a): the LSE sign for government is used to refer generically to ‘government’. However, there is a sign in LSC that can also be used (b).
