As in most sign languages, lexical numerals in LSC are derived from finger counting. LSC numerals may be classified into three categories: cardinal, ordinal and distributive numerals. Ordinal and distributive numerals are derived from cardinal numerals, as they also express numeral quantity but they combine it with other kinds of information: order and distribution.
