5.1. Predicate classifiers

Predicate classifiers are highly iconic constructions that combine a specific handshape with a specific movement and a specific location that reproduce the position, the path movement, and the shape or the handling of an entity. These classifiers may be divided into three different classes: entity classifiers, body part classifiers and handling classifiers. The following sections present these three types of predicate classifiers and offer an inventory of the most common ones.
