In LSC, it is also possible to find sentences on which the components of a complex wh-expression (the wh-sign and its restrictor) have been split. In this type of construction the restrictor occurs in its base position and the wh-sign appears in the final position of the clause. In this case, there is no requirement to spread the non-manual marking over the preceding material.
