Intensive meaning (very x) is expressed with widened eyes and raised eyebrows. When these non-manuals co-occur with adjectives, they function as intensifiers. Also, the mouthings of those adjectives are exaggerated. The first example below is cold. The second one has the intensified meaning 'very cold'.
