3.10.1.3. Distributive numerals

Reduplication of numerals is the most common strategy to express distributivity. In the example below the numeral one is reduplicated three times representing different members of the family. The verb give is also reduplicated three times towards the previously established locations in space for each of the numerals.

date christmas ix₁ all family one_a one_b one_c book give_a give_b give_c.

‘I will buy a book for each member of the family at Christmas.’
