1.1.3. The manual alphabet & number signs

Many signs in LSC have specific handshapes that are taken from the manual alphabet used to fingerspell letters/words of spoken languages. In the table below, some examples of signs created on the basis of the manual alphabet are shown.

Some signs in LSC are derived from number signs. Below we can see the sign no_idea thatis realized by displaying the handshape of the number zero in the forehead of the signer.
