3.4.7. Restrictive vs. non-restrictive relative clauses

Brow raise and body lean towards a location in signing space are precisely the non-manual markers of the relativization sign self and from this sign these non-manual markers may spread partially or totally on the relative construction. When the sign self is not explicitly uttered, the non-manual markers have to spread totally over the whole relative construction. The total spread of the non-manuals over the whole relative is also obligatory when the sign self appears initially, both when the relative construction is preposed and postposed.
