1.4.1. Symmetrical signs
As mentioned before, symmetrical two-handed signs are signs in which both hands are active and display the same parameters. This type of two-handed signs may be of two different types depending on the alignment between the two hands and the movement they display. In the first type, the movement of both hands may be aligned in time. Some examples of this type are the signs shown below.
a) exam
b) disconnect
c) glasses
d) feel
e) thursday
f) prepare
g) agree
h) together
i) trousers
In the second type, the movement of both hands is alternated in time. Below some signs with misaligned movement are shown.
a) excuse
b) experiment
