1.2.2. Modified loans

Within loan compounds, it is possible to find some kind of alteration in the order of signs. Instead of following a one-to-one correspondence, the order of the component signs is reversed or changed in some way for ease of articulation or for phonological matters. The following example shows a modified loan that is modified because of the movement. The sign chemical has a continuous movement, whereas compound has a final hold. For ease of articulation (and phonological tendency), they are signed in this order, as chemical^compound.
